John Gabbana Reveals He Traded The Blicky For The Bible & His Weapons For Wisdom

Former Jacksonville comedian John Gabbana, has turned a new leaf since his release from prison. In his recent video, John revealed that he traded his blicky for the Bible and his weapons for wisdom.

“In my past, the blicky was my man till the Holy Spirit intervened and changed my fate. From thug life to Christ. Them demons are deceased,” John said in the new clip.

“No guns, no violence.. this is grace level peace. No more drugs, no more strife, in him I abide. I’ve been called to a higher life and the Bible is my guard. Jesus is my rock. From darkness to light, I answered his call.  To follow after him and in his mercy and wisdom, I found my destiny,” he added.

John Gabbana, formerly known as Boonk Gang, turned his back on his previous life of drugs and addiction to follow Jesus. Back in 2020, he shared his powerful testimony of how he discovered Christ when he was imprisoned.

In a 6-minute video, John recalled the day he started knowing about Jesus. He shared that while he was doing his time in the L.A. County Jail, his cellmate, Joshua, introduced him to the Bible.

“It was a humbling experience. Because.. learning about the power of Jesus and how humble he was with so much power, he had really made me humble myself. Knowing how much fame I had but how I carried myself. It wasn’t how Jesus carried himself,” he said.

“I was in my cell, but I sang it loud enough so everybody could hear me. I was singing, ‘Jesus loves you, for He died on the cross for our sins. He’s always with you, from beginning to the end.” John explained that he sang because people inside the jail forget that they are loved. “There’s just a lot of negative energy in jail. And I just wanted people to get reminded that they are loved.”

He did not know that Someone was really pleased with his effort. Because after he sang, John laid down and started to cry. He wondered why, but he felt sad and grieved. But it did not take long because John was comforted by Someone’s touch.

“I felt a touch. It wasn’t like a hand, it wasn’t like a palmed hand, but it was a touch. It started small, but it got bigger and bigger. And it was so soft, and it felt so comforting.”

John could not help but weep while remembering his powerful experience. He then told his friend, Josh, about his wonderful encounter with the Holy Spirit. He even described himself as a fan who has just seen a celebrity.

“This video is just about putting God first. And don’t ever forget that whatever you go through, when you make it through, you didn’t do it alone,” he added.
