The world literally stood up, demanding justice for George Floyd who was killed by a police officer in broad daylight and the entire incident was caught on camera. Authorities claim Floyd was resisting arrest but surveillance footage from a nearby store proved otherwise.
People find it absurd and racist as the white cop was seen in the viral video applying pressure to Floyd’s neck after he’s already being cuffed which led to his death.
There have been numerous riots and protests happening in Minneapolis, with citizens urging the officer, Derek Chauvin to be arrested. There are also reports that Floyd allegedly worked security at a nightclub and Derek Chauvin.
The two reportedly worked overlapping shifts but it’s unclear if they actually knew each other. There were reportedly a couple dozen security guards on the staff.
However, It was earlier reported that Chauvin has been arrested in Minneapolis and placed in custody and recently, it was revealed that he was charged with 3rd-degree murder as well as manslaughter.
According to reporter Theo Keith, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman has announced that he expects some of the other officers involved to also be arrested and face consequences.
