Wale Airs Out His Grievances: “I’m Blackballed To Death”
Wale Says Managers Do “Bare Minimum” & Labels Been Lying About The Support Of Black Artists & Music
Wale Folarin has been keeping it real with his thoughts without editing. Couple of months back, he opened up on his frustration working with Pop artists, where he claimed that they only work with White and chart topping rappers.
Recently, Wale dropped his EP The Imperfect Storm and the impressive project was well accepted by fans worldwide. He’s also reckoned with as one of the top lyricist.
However, all doesn’t seem to be well with the “Ambitions” rapper, taking to Twitter on Wednesday to air out a few grievances about how his career has been navigated by those who are supposed to help him, starting with his management.
“My managers do the bare minimum. Good morning,” Wale wrote. And when a fan replied “Joe was right” Wale responded saying: “Yeah he was right but that’s only half of it .. I’m blackballed to death .But won’t go there,” the rapper said, adding, “I’m either a below average artist or somethin fishy . But the information is out there.”
He continued, “Labels been lying about the support of black artist and music .. but u know I don’t know how to convey my thoughts with out certain ppl sayin I’m trippin… It’s complicated . Self Promotion . Free Lunch. Wow .. that’s crazy . The Imperfect Storm.”
“I had to beg my label to make ‘Sue me’ and ‘BGM’ let’s y’all about it. We had to beg them to let @kerbito do his thing with his vision .. it was no before it was yes .” His fans quickly chimed in to show him support with uplifting words.
