Sha’Carri Richardson Won’t Run 100-Meter Dash At Tokyo Olympics After Testing Positive For Marijuana

Yesterday Sha’Carri Richardson started trending on social media after a report surfaced alleging that she failed her drug test, and as a result, she could possibly miss the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Many fans around the world started advocating for her, and explained why she is still deserving of competing.

On Friday, Sha’ Carri spoke with @todayshow to speak about the situation. She takes full responsibility for her actions stating, “I know what I did. I know what I’m supposed to do, (what) I’m allowed not to do and I still made that decision. Don’t judge me because I am human.”

Today noted that there is still a small chance that she could still compete in the relay at the Olympics.

When asked if she was hoping for that moment, Sha’Carri said, “Right now I’m just putting my time and energy into dealing with what I need to deal with to heal myself. So if I’m allowed to receive that blessing then I’m grateful for it.”



It was previously reported that she is facing a 30-day, well new reports has it that she’s not qualified to run 100 meter dash at Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for Marijuana.
