Chicago Police Name King Von As The Suspected Killer Of Gakirah “KI” Barnes
Chicago police unexpectedly released paperwork about their investigation into Chicago resident “Gakirah “KI” Barnes” murder. They listed King Von as the suspected killer.
K.I was murdered Friday, April 11 2014, after she was shot multiple times around 3:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Eberhart Avenue, Fox 32 reports.
She was shot as many as nine times, suffering gunshot wounds to the chest, jaw and neck, according to NBC Chicago. “It’s an ongoing war and we do not know what for,” K.I’s mother Brown told NBC Chicago at the time.
“I’m just gonna miss her presence. She was a very, very beautiful, well-known, liked, lovely girl. I love her and I’m gonna fight for her to have justice because I don’t think it’s fair that we’re losing our kids being gunned down in the streets.”
To her mother, Gakirah Barnes was a funny and sweet charter graduate who loved music and ‘was liked by everyone.
But to the gangs of Chicago’s notorious South Side, she was a ‘young killa’ who went by the names ‘Tyquanassassin’ and ‘Tookaville’kirah’, rumored to have committed her first murder at the age of 14.
Some claim she was involved in up to 20 gangland deaths. It’s quite surprising that King Von may have hands in her death. Last year, Von was also shot dead during an altercation with Quando Rondo and his team.
