Summer Walker Feels Like Black People Can’t Be Goth, Emo, Or Alternative Without Being criticized
Summer Walker is tired of being criticized for her versatile look and she’s now speaking out about how hypocritical some people can be.
The singer took to Instagram early Wednesday morning to sound off.
Over a picture of herself, Summer wrote, “I wish I could find my old pics from high school, I had a shaved head, Mohawk, Afro, every color wig, blonde Bantu knots, shaved eye brows with 2 stripes of paint under my eyes like I was going to war lol I had it all cause I didn’t care to be MYSELF, and I still don’t.”
She went on to say, “Don’t be mad at me cause you to puxxy to step outside of societal norms. Lmao imagine not doing wearing what you want until you have approval from the rest of your peers… and y y’all all wanna look the same anyway? N E way this’ll be left here to let you know idc, so save your opinions cause I’ma keep being ME regardless despite the insecurities/envy/projection you have towards me AND if I was white no one would give af, for some reason black people ain’t allowed to be goth emo or alternative but that’s a different conversation.”
In addition to this, Summer has also been criticed about her body as many noticed that possibly went under the knife.
But despite all this, one thing that many can agree on is that she makes great music, and Summer has been hitting the studio to put out more.
