Ne-Yo Says If Women Want Men To Stop Calling Them ‘B*tches’ Then They Should ‘Stop Dancing To The Records’
Ne-Yo Speaks On Misogynistic Music: “Women Should ‘Stop Dancing To The Records”
Ne-Yo is sparking a debate online following a recent interview with @thecruzshow. In a clip published on Wednesday (February 16), the singer talks about the change in today’s music and how he noticed it’s become “super misogynistic.”
He explained, “I can only blame us, men, halfway for that because, as a woman, if a man sings the word ‘b*tch’ to you and you smile at him, he’s probably going to do it again — and again and again and again,” he said.
“And the more misogynistic lyrics get, the more y’all accept it, the more that’s gonna happen. That’s just kinda what that is.”

Before ending on the topic, Ne-Yo went on to say, “So ladies, I’ll love y’all, but if y’all want men to stop calling you ‘bitches,’ stop dancing to them records.’” Now, some viewers commented that they “100%” agreed with Ne-Yo’s stance while others didn’t fully understand his point of view.
One person tweeted, “He’s not wrong. And of course this excerpt/headline doesn’t capture what he said in full….. y’all get so caught in “how” people say it instead of getting to the message.”
However, another added, “Somebody ask Neyo if men want other men to stop robbing and killing them they shouldnt rap along to those types of songs?”
A third Twitter user said, “That statement makes as much sense as “If y’all want white folks to stop calling you n******, stop dancing to them records “. Sexism is toxic…just like racism! #neyo.”
