Carlisha Hood Files Lawsuit Against The City Of Chicago For Emotional Distress

Mother Who Was Arrested For Telling 14-Year-Old Son To Shoot Man During Fight Files Lawsuit Against The City Of Chicago

A video of a man and woman getting into a physical altercation which later led to the woman’s son shooting the man recently surfaced on social media.

Well, the woman in the video who was assaulted is filing a lawsuit against the city of Chicago and five police officers after being reunited with her son after prosecutors dismissed all charges against the two.

In documents obtained by ABC7, Carlisha Hood, 35, claims she was falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted while also suffering emotional distress as a result. “On June 18 of this year my life changed,” Hood said.

“Never in a million years would I have imagined being brutally attacked, beaten, then arrested.”

Hood’s attorney, Brandon Brown, said that prosecutors did the right thing by dropping the charges and that she is the victim in this case. also openly expressed that when a woman is violently attacked by a man while unarmed, then she shouldn’t be arrested.

“If your mother or sister or daughter were attacked in a restaurant while trying to order a cheeseburger, would you expect that she would be arrested? Brown said.

Hood and her son reportedly would not answer questions directly about the incident but expressed that they would like their privacy and time to heal. No further statements have been released other than Hood’s attorneys revealing that they plan to file additional lawsuits.
