Jay-Z Attends His Mother’s Star-Studded Wedding To Gay Lover Roxanne Wilshire

Jay-Z’s mom, Gloria, has married her longtime partner Roxanne Wilshire.

According to TMZ, the wedding took place in NY Sunday night. The star studded celebration of love was attended by The Carters, of course, Tyler Perry, Kelly Rowland, Robin Roberts, and many others.

If you can recall, Gloria came out about her sexuality in 2017 on Jay’s track “Smile.” She spoke about living closeted as a gay woman.

The track was a deeply personal piece, with Jay-Z discussing his mother’s sexuality, a topic initially met with resistance from Carter herself.

Jay-Z revealed his mother was initially hesitant about the public disclosure of her sexual orientation through his music. She had urged him not to release the track “Smile,” fearing the attention that might follow.
