Selena Gomez Calls Out Her Ex The Weeknd For Exploiting Her ‘Real Life Pain For Entertainment’ In The Idol

If you have been keeping up with The Weeknd’s new HBO series ‘The Idol’, then maybe you have peeped a few similarities between main character Jocelyn, and The Weeknd’s ex, Selena Gomez.

According to sources close to Gomez, the pop singer has found herself ‘irked’ by the similar experiences the Jocelyn character is experiencing.

An insider source close to Gomez claims she feels as though her “real life pain was used for entertainment value,” the source said. If you remember, Gomez and The Weeknd dated for 10 months back in 2017.

For those unfamiliar with the show, Jocelyn’s character, who just so happens to be a pop star, experiences a life turn after meeting a nightclub owner by the name of Tedros who is played by The Weeknd.

Social media began pointing out some of Jocelyn and Gomez’s similar mannerisms, such as blowing kisses, a dispute with her team about going topless on an album cover, canceling a tour because of a mental breakdown etc.

Gomez described the feeling of her real life being seemingly mirrored on the show as creepy to her.

Although The Weeknd has yet to speak on the matter, a follow-up season for the show is already in the talks.
