11-Year-Old Florida Girl Arrested For 911 Prank Alleging Her Friend Was Kidnapped

An 11-year-old Florida girl was arrested for texting 911 saying one of her friends was “kidnapped.”

According to Fox35 News, the child was arrested on Wednesday in Volusia. She told police that her friend had been taken by an armed man driving a white van.

Multiple officers responded to the claim, searching the area, but ultimately finding nothing. Now this is where it get’s Carlee-ish. The 11-year-old claimed she was tailing the kidnapper at the time in a blue jeep.

All these updates were being text to a 911 dispatcher who ended up tracing the phone to the 11-year-old’s house.

The girl confessed that she thought the prank “would be funny.” Cops told her “you’re gonna enjoy these cuffs.” A Sheriff said she should take this opportunity to learn from her mistake.

“You know, this is gonna be an opportunity for you to turn this into a learning experience,” the deputy said. “This is not something you’re gonna carry with you for the rest of your life.”

The girl says she saw the prank on YouTube. She was taken to a family resource center for processing.
