Drake’s Amusement Park “Luna Luna” Finally Open In Los Angeles, He Reportedly Invested $100 Million
Luna Luna, the World’s First Art Amusement Park, which featured works from biggest names in the art world “Salvador Dalí, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, and David Hockney” just relaunched in Los Angeles.
And the art amusement park has a new owner, according to reports reaching us at Dreddsworld, Drake invested nearly $100M in the venture.
Luna Luna was a conceptual amusement park created in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany by Australian artist and performer André Heller.
The amusement park designed to make art accessible to ordinary people. It lived for an entire summer as an art museum and amusement park, including works by 30 of the most famous artists of the era, who contributed and customized classic theme park rides.
The fair debuted in Hamburg, Germany in 1987, but after drawing thousands of visitors, money ran out, and Luna Luna ended up being packed away in 44 shipping containers in Texas for the next 35 years.
But Drake heard about the Luna Luna artifacts, and his creative studio, DreamCrew, relaunched it — costing him (and Live Nation) around $100 million to do it.
