Terry Crews Apologizes To Gabrielle Union – Gets Dragged On Twitter
Terry Crews Apologizes To Gabrielle Union
Actor Terry Crews made controversial headlines last week when he publicly contradicted Gabrielle Union’s claim of racism on the set of America’s Got Talent.
Terry, who also worked on the show, claimed that Gabrielle Union was either wrong or lying, and that there was no racism on the show.
Immediately after Terry made those comments, he was universally criticized by Black people across entertainment.

“I can’t speak for sexism…but I can speak on any racism comments. That was never my experience,” he says. pic.twitter.com/XEoxn7gvWP

They were furious that Terry would publicly bash Gabby even before NBC Universal (the owner of America’s GoT Talent) had the chance to conduct its own investigation of her claims.
Terry later took to twitter to issue an apology over his statements : “I want you to know it was never my intention to invalidate your experience but that is what I did. I apologize. You have been through a lot in this business, and with that, I empathize with the struggle toward fairness and equality in the workplace.”
He continues : “I hear you, I respect you and understand you. I am sorry, and I am here to support you. I spoke from my own personal point of view without first taking into consideration someone else’s experience.”
Crews went on to applaud Gabrielle and called her “a role model to the entire black community.”
I allowed disrespectful comments directed at me and my family to cause me to react angrily instead of responding thoughtfully. This certainly caused more harm, and it is my hope that I can amend any pain I have caused to those who were hurt by my words.

@itsgabrielleu, I want you to know it was never my intention to invalidate your experience— but that is what I did. I apologize. You have been through a lot in this business, and with that I empathize with the struggle toward fairness and equality in the workplace.

@itsgabrielleu You are a role model to the entire black community and In my desire to be professionally neutral as your co-worker, I should have at the very least understood you just needed my support.
Sincerely, Terry Crews

He then wrote: “I inm;formed @KevinHart4real a while back, he required 2 ‘acknowledge the discomfort of other individuals’ Now, I have to do the very same thing. I wish to excuse the remarks I made. I recognize there are a great deal of Black women injured and pull down by what I stated and likewise by what I didn’t state.”
I hear you, I respect you and understand you. I am sorry and I am here to support you. I spoke from my own personal point of view without first taking into consideration someone else’s experience.

Terry Cruz showed us who he was in White Chicks. Then came back with this weak apology, Go on tv and apologize like you did when you threw @itsgabrielleu under the bus. Keep that same energy! If you can be loud wrong, then you can be loud and apologize. Why add Kevin Hart in his? pic.twitter.com/C02XDq0uzZ
