Former Mayor and Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, made scandalous headlines last week after he was arrested in Miami at what appeared to be a meth filled gay orgy.

Following the incident, Andrew Gillum told his fans and followers that he will enter a rehab facility to address his alcohol abuse.

Andrew made the decision after police found him inebriated inside a Miami Beach hotel room early Friday morning with another man who allegedly overdosed on crystal meth. Candace Owens also claimed that police found blood and feces on the hotel room bed.

The man with married Andrew was openly gay, and according to conservative columnist Candace Owens, police allegedly suspect the two were involved in a gay relationship.

“Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse. I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated,” Andrew says in his statement.

Andrew, who was seen as one of the democratic party’s biggest future stars, was found vomiting in the bathroom of Mondrian South Beach by Aldo Mejias, 56, who then called police.

Another man, Travis Dyson, 30, collapsed on the bed and was treated for a possible drug overdose. Officers found three baggies of crystal meth on the bed and hotel room floor, according to Miami New Times.

Andrew said that with his decision to enter rehab, he forgo all “public facing roles for the foreseeable future. “I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person,” he wrote.
