Summer Walker and her producer boyfriend London On Da Track made controversial headlines over the weekend when a video of the singer yelling in pain as her boyfriend chokes her surfaced.

London orders her to “say you love me” although the expression on Summer’s face certainly does not indicate that she is comfortable with his tight grip, and she repeatedly asks him to “stop.”

As London continues to demand that she tells him she loves him, Summer insists that “it hurts. It’s supposed to be sexy, it hurts,” she replied while her neck grows stiffer. It is sexy,” London insists, with his palm still wrapped around her neck. He then pushes her away from him, still gripping her throat.

While the clip was supposed to be playful, fans didn’t see anything fun in it. Instead, they condemned their relationship, speculating that it is toxic or even abusive.

But Summer Walker has come out to clarify things and according to her, London was just playing and wouldn’t hurt her in reality. “London was playin y’all buggin, he would never try to really hurt me,” she wrote on her instagram story with the addition of a black heart emoji and the generally agreed-upon “SMH” emoji.
