Jeanie Mai & Jeezy Are Now Engaged

After months of dating, The Real host Jeannie Mai and her rapper boyfriend Jeezy are now a deal. The couple recently got engaged on a romantic quarantine date night.

On the 27th of March, Jeezy got down on one knee and proposed to his talk show girlfriend. News of their engagement was first reported by People magazine.

Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, 42, told the mag that he was originally planning to propose to Jeannie, 41, during a trip that the couple planned on taking to Vietnam.

But the coronavirus pandemic messed up his plans. So the trap rapper instead decided to surprise Jeannie by proposing while the two quarantined together at his home in Los Angeles.

“Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose,” Mai’s rep tells PEOPLE. “Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor.”

Congratulations to the couple !

Folks online have been reacting to the engagement and it appears haters are not pleased with the good news. Some critics are even referencing Jeanie’s statement about Blacks in the past.
