French Montana Wants Credit For Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Powerglide’

It appears there’s a brewing beef between French Montana and Swae Lee and now, French is claiming he came up with the entire idea for Rae Sremmurd’s “Powerglide” and he’s now demanding royalties.

Just last week, French Montana claimed he structured the entirety of the song while speaking about ‘Unforgettable’ in a viral video.

“It didn’t have no structure. I had to sit there like a scientist and put it together,” said the rapper. Swae Lee caught up with the post and didn’t hesitate to clap back, calling Montana’s claims ‘Cap’, insinuating that French is lying.

French Montana claimed during a recent interview with Billboard that he produced Rae Sremmurd’s song “Powerglide” but that he never got credit for it. Now that a feud has kicked off with Swae Lee, he noted that he will come after his royalties.

The New York rapper also called out Swae Lee for releasing a would-be second version and not including him. “If I didn’t structure the song, what happened when they put out ‘Unforgettable’ part 2, ‘Guatemala’? How come that didn’t sell nine million?” he asked.

“That’s how they try and do me. I do ‘Unforgettable’, they take me out and he replaces me with somebody else to come out with a part 2. I never took it no way.”
