Jay Z Calls Minnesota Governor Tim Walz Demanding Justice For George Floyd
There have been riots and protests throughout the country, in response to the death of George Floyd who died on May 25 after being pinned down on the neck by a police officer who knelt on his neck during arrest.
Lots of celebrities have reacted to the ongoing protest, seeking ultimate justice for George. We reported earlier that Dreamville / Roc Nation rapper J Cole, joined protesters in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Roc Nation’s huncho and powerful business mogul, Jay Z, has however been pushing to get justice for Floyd, although he’s not been using his social media platforms to make the moves. HOV is literally on some boss level.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz revealed in a press conference over the weekend that he received a call from Jay-Z. “Receiving a call last night realizing how big this was. From Jay-Z — not international perform but dad — stressing to me that justice needs to be served,” Governor Walz stated.
According to Fox News, it was Van Jones that connected Jay-Z and Govenor Walz. “It was so incredibly human,” Walz said of his conversation with Jay. “It was a dad – and I think quite honestly a black man whose visceral pain of this that he knew. His words summarized that justice needs to be served here.”
“He knows the world is watching, and how Minnesota handles this is going to have an impact across the country. It’s a positive sign that someone of a stature, that has a presence like that, is focused in the moment of what Minnesotas are focused on,” he added.
