Man Behind Ahmaud Arbery Video Says He’s Received Death Threats
The murder of an African American Georgia man named Ahmaud Arbery have been making controversial headlines lately after the graphic video of his killing surfaced online.
The video purports to show the last minute, where the Black man was shot down by a father and son who chased him while he was jogging through his neighborhood.
Ahmaud Arbery, 25, went for a jog in his small town in Georgia when Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, pointed him as a suspect in burglaries in the area so they would enact a citizen’s arrest.
William “Roddie” Bryan, the man who filmed the viral murder of, Ahmaud Arbery, has revealed that he has been receiving death threats. The video was leaked to the public more than two months after the shooting, finally led to the eventual arrest of Travis and Gregory McMichael, who are now charged with Arbery’s murder.
“I am not feeling safe at all … I haven’t felt safe in at least 3-to-5 days now,” Bryan said. “Like Amy (Bryan’s fiancee) has said, the threats have been real.”
The two men who were arrested ( a former cop and his son), implicated him claiming that he had first tried to “block” Arbery with his vehicle but was unsuccessful. But he denies any involvement.
“I had nothing to do with it. I’m trying to get my life back to normal, and it’s been smeared for the last week,” Bryan said. “I was told I was a witness and I’m not sure what I am, other than receiving a bunch of threats.”
