Gunna & Young Thug: Rappers’ New Drug Of Choice Is Whippits

It appears there’s been a drastic change in the drug preference by rappers. In the 1990s the drug of choice for hip hop was marijuana, then in the 2000s it turned into Lean, and in the 2010s it was pills.

However, the new hip hop drug for the 2020s appears to be ‘Whippets’ Or ‘Whippits’. We reported earlier that Chris Brown is now addicted to the drug and it appears he’s got companions.

Rapper Gunna, Young Thug, Lil Duke and ace producer Wheezy have come out publicly, and seemingly explained that they recreationally use the drug. The stars recently joined the ‘Whippets’ challenge and the clip has since gone viral.

Nitrous oxide or “Whippits” is an inhalant drug that can cause analgesia, depersonalization, derealisation, dizziness, euphoria, and some sound distortion. In some cases, it may cause slight hallucinations and have a mild aphrodisiac effect.

The drug as been around for years, but is now starting to see a resurgence, especially in the California party and rave scene.
