Kendrick Lamar and J Cole are arguably the best lyricists of new generation rappers. The two have proven themselves to be one of the GOAT contenders, with multiple projects on their shelf, they’ve won the hearts of many Hip Hop fans.

For over a decade now, fans have been anticipating a collaborative project from K Dot  and Cole World, but it appears they’ll have to wait forever.

Back in 2018, J Cole talked about the collaboration during an interview with Martinez (Pitchfork) : “We just did a few songs. Like, we did a bunch of ideas. Put it like that. It was nothing like, you wouldn’t call it an album. It’s not like it’s something that’s actively happening,” he said.

“Not because it’s never gonna happen. Just because, like… it’s not right now, and I don’t like teasing or playing the game ’cause this has been going on for a minute,” Cole explained.

TDE’s President, Punch, revealed that he might put all of the records he’s released over the years onto streaming platforms when a fan demanded Kendrick. “What you do want with him?” Punch replied the fan.

The fan then asked for a three-track EP with J Cole which Punch immediately shut down. “That’s not happening,” he replied.

That’s when the fan doubled down on his request. “Yeah coz we gonna get a 12 track album from them right?” The fan pushed further. “0 tracks. Not happening,” Punch replied. So, it appears we might never even get a collaboration from the duo at all in the future.
