Amanda Seales Quits ‘The Real’ After Heated Arguments With Jeannie Mai
Amanda Seales took fans by surprise when she announced yesterday, that she’s leaving her host gig on daytime talk show, The Real, months after joining the celebrity lineup. Insiders claim it all went down after Amanda got into a heated argument with co-host Jeannie Mai.
The popular comedienne spoke about why she decided not to continue with the talk show, and according to her, producers were trying to censor her.
“I didn’t renew it, because it doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I can not, speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to,” Amanda explained. “And where the people that are speaking to me in despairing ways are not being handled.”
“I’m not at a space where as a full Black woman I can have my voice and my co-workers also have their voices and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for Black voices to be at the top too,” she continued.
A source close to production at the show reportedly said that Amanda and Jeannie would frequently argue, often heatedly, behind the scenes. The insider explained, “Amanda and Jeannie didn’t like each other at all.
Amanda is very liberal with her politics and Jeannie is a conservative Republican – so that was the source of their drama. Also, Amanda doesn’t respect Jeannie’s intelligence, she thinks Jennie is a dingbat,” the insider added.
Jeannie and Tamera Mowry are the only two conservative Republicans on the show, although they publicly hide their political leanings. Up until two years ago, Jeannie was married to actor and right wing activist Freddie Harteis, but now she’s engaged to rapper Jeezy.
