Pop Smoke's Album Cover Art For "Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon" Changed After Backlash

Pop Smoke’s Album Cover Art For “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon” Changed After Backlash

Pop Smoke was murdered just when he was close to stardom in what’s reported to be a home invasion in Los Angeles earlier this year. Following his death, 50 Cent offered to produce his posthumous album.

The rap and business mogul has been working hard to make Pop’s posthumous album a great one, he revealed the album title “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon” couple of weeks back.

While the project is scheduled to drop on the 3rd of July, the cover art was revealed for fans to see on Monday. Ahead of its release, Steven Victor took to Instagram to share the official cover art designed by Virgil Abloh and a heartfelt message.

But many weren’t feeling the art work and have taken to social media to call out Virgil Abloh for a lazy work. Following the backlash from the artwork, Steven Victor announced on his Instagram page that they would be changing the art cover.

“As pop’s label & as his friends/family, it is our obligation to bring his vision to life  he wanted virgil to lead creative, we fulfilled his wishes  however, unfortunately, he’s not here to give his final approval  his fans, are. Steven said.”

“You know why you love pop  your voices are loud and clear, he loved his fans and listened to his fans  pop and we at victor victor heard you loud and clear, changes will be made see you July 3rd 2020.”

Here are some reactions on the initial artwork :
