Shaun King Says White Jesus Is A Tool Of White Supremacy – Twitter Reacts
Shaun King Wants White European Statue Of Jesus Taken Down Because It’s White Supremacy
Protesters have been moving to take down historical statues amid the ongoing war against racial discrimination. They gathered at Lafayette Square outside of the White House to take down a statue of President Andrew Jackson.
According to reports, a statue of Theodore Roosevelt may also be removed from the American Museum of Natural History.
Controversial activist Shaun King has chimed in, coming up with a theory that White Jesus is as a result of White Supremacy and he wants European depictions of Jesus to be taken down. “If your religion requires Jesus to be a blonde haired blue eyed Jesus, then your religion is not Christianity, but white supremacy,” he tweeted.
Christian whiteness, not white Christianity, has been the primary religion of this country for hundreds of years. Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down.”
“They are a form of white supremacy,” Shaun King wrote in a follow up tweet. “Always have been. In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Denmark. Tear them down.” Peep his tweets below :

Again, what she is actually defending here is her whiteness.
Christian whiteness needs white Jesus.
It’s not about generosity or kindness.
It’s not about protecting the vulnerable. It’s about whiteness itself.
Attack white Jesus to her, and you attack her faith. https://t.co/FrsH9ZIfl5

Yes.
All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down.
They are a gross form white supremacy.
Created as tools of oppression.
Racist propaganda. They should all come down.

Experts have long since said this is likely the most accurate depiction of Jesus.
White Americans who bought, sold, traded, raped, and worked Africans to death, for hundreds of years in this country, simply could not have THIS man at the center of their faith. pic.twitter.com/Mn1pOCR233

This is from me in 2015 when I was the Senior Justice Writer at the New York Daily News.
White Jesus is a figment of the white supremacist imagination.
It’s not harmless.
It’s an explicit tool of oppression.
In film. In art. Everywhere.https://t.co/nNDdpXGoB6

No, actually.
I am saying the statues and art of the European man you claim is Jesus is a tool of white supremacy.
And all tools of white supremacy should be torn down.
ALL OF THEM. https://t.co/y1tbN7Eet9

Of course, he was met with backlash over his claims and was dragged across twitter for his supposed misleading words. See some reactions below :

The fact that Shaun King still has a platform – outstandingly mystifying.

I unfollowed Shaun King last week after a year of muting him upon learning of his dissent. I merely unfollowed, saying nothing more notwithstanding what I know.
He’s chosen to respond by blocking me.
This speaks volumes. It also confirms I made the right decision. pic.twitter.com/nOasRvjwMk
