St Louis Rapper Huey Shot Dead At 31
‘Pop, Lock & Drop It’ Rapper Huey Shot & Killed Last Night
Tragic struck the Hip Hop community once again. St Louis rapper Huey real name Lawrence Franks was pronounced dead at 31 after being fatally shot last night.
According to early reports, the shooting took place right before midnight in front of a home in the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in Kinloch.
A spokesperson from the St. Louis County Police Department has confirmed that the shooting has been classified as a homicide. “The identity of a victim of a homicide will not be provided until that identity is positively confirmed and their next of kin notified,” Sergeant Benjamin Granda said in a statement via Newsweek.

Huey was shot in front of a house on the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Another man who police have yet to name was also shot, though he is expected to survive. At the time of the news breaking, no arrests had been made.
Authorities are expected to give a news briefing in the coming hours.
Huey was best known for his 2006 debut single, “Pop, Lock & Drop It,” and peaked at #6 on the Billboard charts.
