Willard Carroll Smith popularly known as Will Smith is an actor, producer and rapper. In April 2007, Newsweek referred to him as “the most powerful actor in Hollywood”. Smith has been nominated for five Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards, and has won four Grammy Awards.

Will suddenly became a subject of mockery after his wife since 1997 Jada Pinkett Smith, admitted to having an affair with R&B star August Alsina. Their marriage of 23 years turned out to be a joke overnight.

The celebrity couple had always been regarded as couple goals, as everything seems to be perfect. They represent strength in the Black community and also serve as role models to many people all over the world.

But after August Alsina made shocking revelation about his relationship with Jada Pinkett during an interview with Angela Yee, the world realized it’s not as beautiful as it seems. August even claimed Will Smith gave his blessings, but the actor denies it.

“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation in their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism. He gave me his blessing and I told him and I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life,” August said.

“And I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it. So much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody. I really loved a person. I experienced that. I know what that feels like and some people never get that in this lifetime,” he added.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith addressed the claims on ‘The Red Table Talk’ where she admitted and described their relationship as an “entanglement” and that she and Will were actually separated at the time and it seemed as though they wouldn’t get back together. That’s when she started to get into a relationship with Alsina that eventually ended soon after.

The prolific actor noticeably struggled through the interview and seemed at one point like he was holding back tears, as Jada admitted that her relationship with August was exciting. Jada said that no one made her feel like August has “in years.”

The celebrity couple then ended the conversation by fist-bumping each other and yelling, “Bad Marriage for life” implying that their relationship has been bad. But they lost their props as internet trolls made the most demeaning memes about the situation.

Will was attacked the most, he was clowned by folks online and his fellow celebrities as well. And it seem as though, all of Will Smith’s legacy and his iconic career of decades has been overshadowed by the entanglement.

“Damn. Will Smith a whole cuck. Our heroes going out sad all 2020,” a Twitter user wrote. “Will Smith been my role model since I was 9 years old. My dumbass goofy persona came straight from him. Smh never would I predicted he was a cuck,” another user tweeted.

Although Jada was slut shamed too, with disparaging comments saying she belongs to the street, the actress still got some support from people who credited her for being real.

As if that wasn’t enough, August went ahead to drop a track titled “Entanglements” featuring Rick Ross, where he seemingly capitalized on the whole drama. “The definition of entanglement. It’s when you’re tangled in the sheets. Girl, I know that we don’t call it a relationship. But you’re still fuckin’ with me,” August sings on the song.

While it’s understandable that this is an era of social media, where almost everything is turned into memes, it’s saddening that whenever a picture of Will Smith pops out, the first impression of a ‘living legend’ has been overshadowed by the image of a ‘cuck’ as Twitter would call him.

In the late 1980s, Smith achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince. In 1990, his popularity increased dramatically when he starred in the NBC television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran for six seasons from 1990 to 1996.

After the series ended, Smith moved from television to film and went on to star in numerous blockbuster films. He is the only actor to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office, eleven consecutive films gross over $150 million internationally, and eight consecutive films in which he starred open at the number one spot in the domestic box office tally.

Smith has been ranked as the most bankable star worldwide by Forbes. Will is so legendary that Joyner Lucas made a song about him. Hopefully, time will clean this messy stain on his legacy.
