Wisconsin Declines Kanye West’s Petition To Appear On Ballot
Wisconsin Turns Down Kanye West’s Petition To Appear On Ballot
The State of Wisconsin has refused to accept Kanye West‘s petition to appear on the ballot for the 2020 November elections. And it’s nothing but a big blow to the rapper’s presidential bid.
According to NBC News, the state’s election board ruled that his application was submitted too late. The commission voted 5-1 to reject West’s petition because his petition signatures were delivered shortly after the state’s 5 p.m. deadline.
The committee voted more than two-and-a-half hours into its meeting to reject West’s attempt to be on the ballot. It is likely that West will appeal the decision.
Ye admitted during an interview with Forbes that his spoiler campaign is indeed an attempt to hurt Joe Biden. He referred to his presidential run as a “walk.” Since Trump’s been in office, Ye has boated about his large tax returns. Simply put, Trump’s presidency has been profitable for the rapper.
Michelle Obama also seemingly shaded him during her recent speech, “This is not the time to withhold our votes in protest or play games with candidates who have no chance of winning,” she said.
She continued, “We have got to vote like we did in 2008 and 2012. We’ve got to show up with the same level of passion and hope for Joe Biden.”
