Kanye West Addresses Ma$e's Public Apology Demand

Kanye West Responds To Mase’s Public Apology Demand

During Kanye West‘s recent rants about the music industry and how artists are being locked up in a slavery contract, he shared  screenshots of all of his contracts.

But he was met with criticism from his fellow artists, including rapper turned Pastor, Mase, who was quick to point out Kanye West’s hypocrisy.

Much of what you are feeling has been expressed before,” Mase wrote on Instagram. “But when I was saying it, the same system and mindset that you are fighting against today, used you to shame me for leaving the very same system!”

“Remember your famous line, ‘Don’t leave when you hot [that’s how Mase screwed up]’?” he wrote referencing Kanye’s lyrics in “Devil In a New Dress,” in which the rapper invokes Mase’s name for a punchline.

He continued, “You owe me (and my family) a public #apology and then some, if anyone owes you one,” he declared. “For alluding to the fact that me following God at the height of my career was a bad decision.”

Kanye has now responded to the call out, admitting to his own hypocrisy but didn’t apologize directly. He replied with a kind message, calling him one of his favorite rappers ever.

“Ma$e is right about that line … I always felt funny about that line,” admitted Ye on Twitter. “Ma$e is one of my favorite rappers and I based a lot of my flows off of him … I’m the king of ‘ooh can I get away with this bars’ so I reap what I sow when the next generation does the same to me.”
