T.I.’s “The L.I.B.R.A” Album Flops, Sells 20K In The First Week
T.I.’s “The L.I.B.R.A” Album Makes Unimpressive First Week Sales, Set To Debut At No. 20
T.I announced his eleventh studio album titled ‘The Libra‘ an acronym for The Legend Is Back Running Atlanta while celebrating his 40th birthday couple of weeks back. The project serves as a follow-up to this 2008 body of work ‘Paper Trail’.
Hip Hop fans were amused by the announcement, ready to hear new songs from the self acclaimed King of the South. The album dropped last week and it carries a bit of controversy.
The project is compiled of twenty tracks, albeit lined with intros, outros, and interludes. It also features lots of artists including Ms. Pat, Tokyo Jetz, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, Mozzy, Jeremih, Snoop Dogg, Rapsody, Rahky, London Jae, Conway, Rick Ross, Domani, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Alec Beretz, Eric Bellinger, Killer Mike, 21 Savage, and John Legend.
Tip confirmed rumors that his friend peed on Drake with a lyric on “We Did It Big” featuring John Legend. The revelation was quite contentious and it made Drake unfollowed him on Instagram.
However, according to HITS Daily Double, T.I. will debut at Number 20 on the charts this week after selling 20K units in the first week.
2,900 of these sales will be pure album purchases which are still higher than many of the artists who are above him on the list. Looking at T.I’s position in Hip Hop, the numbers are not too impressive.
