Tory Lanez’s ‘Daystar’ Album Sells Just 36k
Tory Lanez responded to claims he shot Megan Thee Stallion on his new album ‘Daystar. But several media outlets and other artists have blackballed the Canadian star for profiting off Megan’s trauma.
However, his ‘Daystar’ album ended up flopping on the Billboard charts, selling just 36,000 equivalent copies. Daystar is Tory’s lowest ever selling album.
According to Billboard, of that figure, 34,000 are from SEA units (equaling 47.7 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), 2,000 from album sales, and a negligible figure from TEA units.
Tory’s father Sonstar Peterson, recently addressed the situation during an interview where he declared his son’s innocence. He blamed the media for speaking negatively about his son.
“You would go to that extent to put your blog or your magazine out there to see something that… but I’m saying that they’re doing it for one reason and one reason only. ‘Cause here is a young man who is not going to back down. We have seen what the industry has done other Black young men.”
“This is much bigger than Megan and Tory. This is first started out as Tory versus the industry,” he added.
