During a recent interview, YBN Nahmir admitted that he was considering an early retirement from rap before “Opp Stoppa” became a viral sensation.

“For a minute, I was thinking, ‘Do I really want to keep doing this rapping sh*t? Maybe I’ll just keep going, just stay in the background.’ And so this was a blessing in disguise,” he said.

“And 21 Savage hopped on the remix, he did the most amazing work that I’ve seen, cause he matched my flow, he matched everything. And I salute cuz for that, because a lot of obstacles that had been put in front of me, he moved them, to be honest,” Nahmir added.

With the success of the track, the 21 year old built up the confidence to share his latest full-length album, titled Visionland, with the world.

Unfortunately, his promotion wasn’t too effective because, according to multiple sources, including DJ Akademiks, the album is only expecting to sell 4,000 units in its first week.

“YBN Nahmir never gone hear the end of this,” a fan wrote. “ybn nahmir the first nigga to make it out the hood and be banished right back to it,” another user trolled.
