Harvey Weinstein Reportedly Going Blind In Prison
Harvey Weinstein’s Attorney Says He’s Going Blind In Prison
Last year, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for charges of sexual assault in Los Angeles. However, according to his Attorney, Weinstein is going blind in jail.
His attorney Norman Effman told Judge Kenneth Case is fighting his extradition to Los Angeles because he has dental and eye procedures to be taken care of.
He also says the disgraced producer is losing his teeth.
Effman said Weinstein is almost blind and needs an eye operation. In addition, he is “scheduled for some dental procedures to save his teeth — he’s lost, I believe four at this point,” Effman said.
On Monday, it was revealed that Weinstein had been secretly indicted on rape charges in Los Angeles.
The indictment was brought by an LA grand jury a few weeks ago, Fox News reported. The indictment was seal but was publicly revealed on Monday, where an arrest warrant was also made public then.
Los Angeles authorities have been seeking to bring Weinstein to face sex-crime charges there, but he’s currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and criminal sex act at the Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County.
