Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez On Horrors Of Capitol Riots, Thought She Would Be Raped
The January 6 riots and the Capitol riots are a stain on American history, and the staffers who went through the ordeal have been left with permanent scars.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently spoke out about some of the horrifying thoughts that when through her mind as deranged Trump supporters tried to seize the Capitol.
While speaking to CNN‘S Dana Bash, she said,
“One of the reasons why that impact was so double that day is because of the misogyny and the racism that is so deeply rooted and animated the attack on the Capitol,” Ocasio-Cortez said on CNN’s upcoming series “Being.”

“White supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways,” the New York congresswoman added. “There’s a lot of sexualizing of that violence, and I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well.”
Bash added in response, “So it sounds like what you’re telling me right now is that you didn’t only think that you were going to die — you thought you were going to be raped.”
