Chicago Rapper Edai Is Dead, Shot Yesterday At His Hometown
Legendary Chicago Drill rapper Edai was shot and killed on the streets of his hometown. According to police, Edai was shot multiple times in the torso, and was rushed to the University of Chicago hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Edai is one of the originators of the Chicago Drill sound, along with Chief Keef – his homie. But while Keef left Chicago – and the streets – behind, Edai stayed in the hood.
DJ Akademiks has also confirmed the report on his Instagram page, revealing that Edai was shot and killed last night. Here are just a few condolences going around social media:

Years back, Edai took to Twitter to relay a message to teens that have thoughts of venturing away from the porch. The rapper wanted teens to place a primary focus on education.
“If u go to school …stay in School and Out The Streets……#realtweet,” he wrote. The “So Serious” crooner then went on to slam gun violence. “Stop The Violence …. Don’t Shoot I Wanna Grow Up ##rns,” he wrote.
Gun violence has plagued the city of Chicago for many years. Many residents have renamed the Windy City “Chiraq” for its high rate of violence. Chicago, according to statistics, has a higher homicide rate than Kabul, Afghanistan.
May his soul rest in peace!
