On Thursday, the CEO showed off his humanoid robot called the Tesla Bot that runs on the same AI used as Tesla’s vehicles.
The new human-robot was revealed at Tesla’s AI Day presentation. It is 5-foot-8-inches in height and will weigh around 125 pounds and be built from “lightweight materials.” To demonstrate the upcoming bot, a human dressed in a skin-tight suit walked as a bot on stage.
“It’s intended to be friendly,” Musk joked, “and navigate through a world built for humans.”

Musk explained his reasoning behind the human Robot.
“Our cars are semi-sentient robots on wheels,” he said. “It kind of makes sense to put that on to a humanoid form. We’re also quite good at sensors and batteries and actuators so we think we’ll probably have a prototype some time next year that basically looks like this.”
The Tesla Bot is currently a prototype and is scheduled to be available next year. It is designed to eliminate “dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks.” “Essentially, in the future, physical work will be a choice.”
Think Will Smith, iRobot, where working is a thing of the past until they attack you!
