Queen’s Cousin Simon Bowes-Lyon Leaves Prison Five Months into Sexual Assault Sentence
Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Simon Bowed-Lyon is out on the streets again.
Lyon is currently the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, he got out after just serving five months of his 10-month sentence.
According to the Mirror, Bowes-Lyon, 35, was released from HMP Perth last week, after he pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 26-year-old woman at is home at Glamis Castle in Scotland. He was sentenced to just 10-months in jail and placed on the sex offenders list.
The victim she was at a three-day public relations event at the Lyon’s estate and had gone to bed when a “drunk” Bowes-Lyon came to her room at 1.20am. He allegedly convinced her to open the door and that is when he sexually assaulted her for 20 minutes.

In a statement to PEOPLE Lyon’s rep said back in February “I am greatly ashamed of my actions which have caused such distress to a guest in my home. When I realized what I had done I apologized quickly to the woman concerned.
I apologize wholeheartedly again today. I am deeply sorry for my behavior and the anguish it has caused.”
“I did not think I was capable of behaving the way I did but have had to face up to it and take responsibility.”
