“Smoke Now So You Wouldn’t Get Smoked Later” – Sha’Carri Richardson Trends As Jamaica Sweeps Women’s 100m
Twitter Reacts To Jamaica Sweeping Women’s 100m Amid Sha’Carri Richardson’s Absence
Sha’Carri Richardson made headlines following her disqualification after she tested positive for Marijuana. The 21-year-old American phenom clinched the U.S. record with a 10.86 at the U.S. Olympic trials in June.
After the result of the test, Sha’Carri Richardson’s record was voided and she was barred from competing in Tokyo.
Many people cried foul at the time, blasting the disciplinary action and accusing them of being racist. Well, the race happened without her on Saturday and no contestant stood a chance against Jamaica’s trio of sprinters in the women’s 100-meters.

Elaine Thompson-Herah won her second consecutive Olympic gold medal with an Olympic record, finishing in 10.61 seconds, edging Florence Griffith-Joyner’s previous mark by a hundredth of a second.
Thompson-Herah’s countrymates, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.74) and Shericka Jackson (10.76), captured silver and bronze.
In place of Richardson, Teahna Daniels was the lone American in the race. She finished seventh in 11:02. People who believed Sha’Carri would have won the race if she participated are not backpedaling.
Richardson has since been trending on Twitter with claims that she actually doesn’t stand a chance against the Jamaica trio. See some of the reactions below:
