Demi Lovato Says She’s Equally As Masculine As She Is Feminine

Pop star Demi Lovato recently appeared on the Today Show, where she opened about life after changing their pronouns to them/they in May, and joked that they one day hope to become an ‘aunkle.’

The singer and actress declares: “I am equally as masculine as I am feminine”. In the new interview, she also discussed how they are still adjusting to the new changes.

“The way that I explain being nonbinary to people, or gender non conforming, is for me personally – I can’t speak to everyone in their experience – when I came to the realization that I am equally as masculine as I am feminine,” the 29-year-old said.

“My masculine and feminine energy are equal, so much so that I may be wearing a dress and heels right now, but I don’t identify as just a woman, or just a man, and I identify as both.” Demi also said that, when it comes to correcting others on their pronouns, they “have a lot of grace” and joked that they “still mess up sometimes” too.

“Sometimes [I] say, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to be an aunt one day,’ and I’m like, ‘Wait, what word do I use?’ I think for that one we’re going to use ‘ankle.’”

During the sit-down, they also talked about identifying as pansexual: “I’m attracted to human beings, and it doesn’t matter what you identify as. I don’t hold myself back from sharing my love with anybody.”
