Chris Cuomo Sets To Sue CNN Over Contract For $18 Million – Report
Chris Cuomo Reportedly Preparing To Sue CNN Over Contract For $18 Million
Not up to 48 hours after his termination from CNN, Chris Cuomo is reportedly preparing to sue the network for the money that is leftover from his contract.
A source close to the journalist claims he’s hired lawyers in preparation to file the lawsuit regarding the remainder of his four-year contract with CNN.
According to the New York Post, Cuomo signed the four-year contract last year and it was reportedly worth $6 million per year. Due to his termination, the leftover money from his contract is between $18 million and $20 million but CNN is reportedly refusing to pay the remainder.
“CNN has a standard morality clause in their contract that says if the employee does anything of disrepute, they can be immediately fired,” a source told the media outlet.
The news comes amid the termination of Cuomo’s contract with the network after it was discovered there was more evidence of him attempting to find information on his brother Andrew’s accusers.
Additionally, he was accused of sexual misconduct by a former co-worker days before he was fired.
It was also revealed by Cuomo’s spokesman that CNN President Jeff Zucker was aware of Chris’ support of his brother. However, CNN has denied the claims.
