Kanye West Rumored To Be Virgil Abloh’s Successor As Creative Director For Louis Vuitton
There are rumors swirling around that Kanye West will be Virgil Abloh’s successor. A source close to the rapper claims he would feel like he would be continuing Abloh’s work despite feeling devastated about his death.
According to The Blast, the source said West and Abloh shared a similar vision throughout their friendship and he feels “he owes it to Virgil to continue his work at Louis Vuitton.”
The men collaborated on several projects together throughout the years which included Abloh’s designs for West’s album covers. Last week, West attended Abloh’s final Louis Vuitton show of the summer and spring 2022 men’s collection in Miami.

Prior to Abloh’s death, West discussed his feelings about Virgil being titled as creative director for the iconic brand on an episode of “Drink Champs.” Last year, he also spoke with Nick Cannon about his feelings regarding the brand.
After learning about the designer’s passing, fans shared a solemn moment where the two men embraced each other after the closing of Abloh’s 2018 for the men’s 2019 spring and summer collection.
