Rachel Zegler Apologizes For Using Britney Spears’ Trauma as A Monologue

West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler is speaking out to apologize after facing backlash for her reenactment of Britney Spears’ tweets to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

In a strange video that has since been deleted, the 20-year-old did a monologue of the pop star’s tweets to her younger sister amid their ongoing public feud.

The post from Britney came on Friday as sister Jamie Lynn began talking about her new book, “Things I Should Have Said.” In it, Jamie Lynn details a scary and confusing experience where she claims Britney pulled her into a room while holding a knife and insisted they stay in there together.

In a series of tweets, Zegler issued an apology saying, “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Britney and am rooting for her always. While I meant no disrespect whatsoever, I should have thought about how this could be perceived, and I’m so sorry for upsetting or disappointing anyone,” she wrote.

The Golden Globe winner added, “This is not a situation to be taken lightly, and we should all be lifting Britney up in this pivotal time,” she continued. “Thanks for hearing me out, and a big thank you to all who held me accountable.”

The recent bout between the two sisters marks months of drama coming to a head in the public eye following the end of Britney’s conservatorship.
