Queen Elizabeth Tests Positive For COVID-19
Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms.
The news was announced by Buckingham Palace officials on Sunday and said the 95-year–old Queen will continue “light duties” in Windsor this week.
According to CNN, officials also said: “she will continue to receive medical attention and will follow appropriate guidelines.” It was previously reported that Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also tested positive for the coronavirus and Queen Elizabeth met with Charles on Feb.8, two days before his diagnosis.
Queen Elizabeth II is also fully vaccinated and she is not the only person within her circle who tested positive for the virus. Several members of the Windsor Castle team also tested positive for the virus but officials did not fully disclose who they were.
Prior to her diagnosis, Queen Elizabeth was participating in several engagements at Windsor Castle and also announced that she wanted Camilla to receive the title “Queen consort” once Charles is crowned king.
“When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
