Will Smith Is Yet To Personally Apologize To Chris Rock For Oscar Slap
Will Smith Hasn’t Personally Apologized To Chris Rock For Oscar Slap
A month after the infamous Oscar slap, Will Smith reportedly still hasn’t apologized to Chris Rock personally for the incident.
In an exclusive by Page Six, several Hollywood insiders claim the Oscar-winning actor has yet to personally apologize to Rock for the slap and is reportedly annoyed by Smith’s “spiritual trip” to India.
One of them called his soul-searching trip “cynical and ridiculous” since he has yet to reach out to Chris Rock.

“Will’s ‘spiritual journey’ to India for yoga and meditation seems cynical and ridiculous, given that he hasn’t apologized personally to the one person he assaulted in front of millions. No amount of Namastes will make up for that.”
Will Smith was seen for the first time weeks after the slap in Mumbai, India on Saturday where he’s reportedly practicing yoga and meditation. Although he hasn’t apologized to the comedian personally, Smith has apologized to the Academy and withdrew himself as a member.
“I am resigning from membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate,” The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends, and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I am heartbroken.”
The Academy also banned Smith from all activities relating to the Oscars for ten years.
