‘First Lady Of Death Row Records’ Jewell Caples Passes At 53
Jewell Caples aka “The First Lady of Death Row Records”, has passed away at the age of 53. Her cause of death was not announced publicly.
The news of the R&B singer’s death was confirmed by former Death Row Records head of security Reggie Wright Jr.
Back in March, Caples announced on Instagram that she was hospitalized after doctors found fluid in her heart, lungs, and legs. “I was Hospitalized on March 2, 2022. Released on March 5, 2022, went home with,8lbs of fluid on my heart, lungs, and legs,” she wrote in the post.

“Went back to hospital March 16th until Today March 21,2022. I Almost Died! Was supposed to be Airlifted to another facility. GOD reverse my symptoms extended me some GRACE! And gave me more time with my Family and Friends! Thank you JESUS for saving my life again! GOD IS REAL!”
Throughout her career, Caples worked with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and 2pac. Additionally, her solo song “Woman to Woman” reached no. 72 on the Billboard Top 100 in 1995. According to the New York Post, Caples published her own memoir titled “My Blood My Sweat My Tears” in 2011.
She also appeared on The Art of Dialogue on YouTube to talk about her experience in the music industry.
Although a statement has not been released by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg or Lady of Rage, fans reacted to the news of Caples’ passing on Twitter.
