One Of R. Kelly’s Victims Says 25 Years Is Too Low: ‘Lock Him Up & Throw Away The Key’
One Of R. Kelly’s Victims Says He Deserves To Be Under The Jail Forever For His Crimes
Prosecutors recently said disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly deserves at least 25 years behind bars for sexually abusing women and girls.
A New York City jury found Kelly guilty of racketeering and multiple other counts last year at a sex-trafficking trial that was seen as a signature moment in the #MeToo movement.
Prosecutors alleged that the entourage of managers and aides who helped Kelly meet girls – and ensure their obedience – amounted to a criminal enterprise. Several accusers testified in lurid detail during the trial, alleging that Kelly subjected his victims to perverse and sadistic whims when they were underage.
Kelly used his “fame, money and popularity” to systematically “prey upon children and young women for his own sexual gratification”, prosecutors wrote in the filing.
One of R. Kelly’s victims has come out to speak on the said 25 years. According to her, it’s too low. “He’s destroyed so many lives for so long that I don’t even think. I think 25 is too low to be quite honest with you. I mean, we deal with residual side effects like we have to live with this forever.”
“You know, it’s not something that just goes away. Lock him up and throw the key away and or put him under the jail forever.”
She continued, “I mean, I don’t think he’s ever gonna stop doing what he does like he has to be away. I mean he clearly he was charged. He went to trial back like he was talking about 2008. And you know you would think someone you know normal but he’s not normal. So you would think that someone in there with their in their right mind would say Oh my God, I better change my ways. You know I need help so I don’t think you can let this person out because he’s proven over and over again.”
