Burna Boy Reveals Toni Braxton Receives 60% Of Royalties From His Song ‘Last Last’

Toni Braxton Receives 60 Percent Of Royalties From Burna Boy’s Hit Song ‘Last Last’

Burna Boy has revealed that Toni Braxton was given 60% of royalties from his single “Last Last,” which he released back in May.

The track, which seemingly hears the 31-year-old address his split from his now ex-girlfriend Stefflon Don, heavily samples Toni’s 2000 hit, “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” throughout.

And during a recent interview with Wall267 and Gillie Da King, Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, explained how the song first came about, and, most importantly, how he was able to get it cleared.

Apparently, he’d been wanting to sample Toni’s record for a while, so when the opportunity finally came about, he had his producer Chopsticks tweak parts to his liking while still keeping its original melody intact.

Burna, in a light-hearted manner, added, “She is taking 60% of the s**t. But I’m not complaining, man. Hopefully, she pops out at one of the shows.”

“Last Last” is the second single lifted off the Nigerian singer’s upcoming sixth studio album, “Love, Damini,” which is released on July 8.
