Desus & Mero ‘Bodega Boys’ Cancelled At Showtime Following Split
Comedy Duo Desus & Mero Split, No Longer Returning To Showtime
Popular podcasters and comedy duo Desus and Melo have split. And the separation seems to be a particularly nasty one.
There have been rumors for months that the New York based podcasters have been battling over money, exposure, and just about everything else.
Now over the weekend, the two started going at it on Twitter – which seems to confirm that the two have decided to go their separate ways. It all started when Mero – the lite skinned one – tweeted that “it’s a wrap Brody.” Mero claimed that Desus had skipped out on their podcast and “was tweeting from some country at like 3AM.”
Mero claimed that he had enough, and told fans that the “podcast [is] done. Enjoy the back catalogue.”
Desus challenged his disgruntled partner’s take, telling fans that “the art is coming back.” The light skinned comedian did not specify whether he planned to “come back” solo – or with Mero.
Then Desus confirmed the split, saying that their fans “deserved better than this.” He added that he may not be to blame for the ending of the popular podcast.
Desus wrote, “[You] can slander my name but when the truth comes out … actually just wait.”
