Kim Burrell Issues Apology For Calling Church Goers ‘Ugly’

We reported earlier that Kim Burrell is facing backlash after a video of her calling church goers ugly surfaced online. Kim made the disparaging remarks while visiting a church.

Following the backlash she’s been receiving from folks online, the Gospel singer has now issued an apology.

“As a kingdom citizen and a woman of integrity, I can acknowledge that some of my words, even if said in jest can be offensive. My intention is never to hurt anyone but to spread love, laughter and more importantly, the gift which God has given me in song,” she wrote in a statement.

“If anyone was offended I can sincerely say I apologize,” she added before threatening to take legal actions against anyone defaming her character.

In the viral clip, Kim can be seen addressing the congregation in a harsh manner. “You got to choose up. Find you some value,” she began. “I respect all of the men of God here. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to meet each other when y’all invite me to come to your church. I’m not as expensive as I seem.”

“I don’t know maybe you got a little left from your PPP loan. Prayer, Praise and Power.. you understand,” she added.

Kim then went on to talk about ugly people who wear church hats to try to hide it.
