R. Kelly Removed From Suicide Watch After Clinical Assessment
R. Kelly Has Been Removed From Suicide Watch
R. Kelly has finally been removed from suicide watch after clinical assessment.
The disgraced singer sued the Brooklyn prison he’s in for “cruel and unusual punishment” after they forced him to go into suicide watch after he was sentenced to 30 years behind bars, even though he said he wasn’t suicidal.
Kelly claims they violated his constitutional rights and caused “severe mental distress.” He believes they’re only isolating him with a suicide watch because he’s a celebrity. He claims that he’s not suicidal at all and expressed it many times to the MDC.

Kelly says he’s been placed in a single cell without bed rails, no showers, no shaving, no toilet paper, being forced to eat meals with his hands, and being shut off from loved ones. Kelly also says inmates on suicide watch don’t even receive the proper psychiatric care.
“Mr. Kelly was placed on suicide watch for purely punitive reasons in violation of his Eighth Amendment rights,” Jennifer Bonjean told Fox News Digital.
“MDC has a policy of placing high profile individuals under the harsh conditions of suicide watch whether they are suicidal or not.
Kelly’s attorneys called the suicidal watch placement “illegal.” “We are in the process of filing an emergency rule to show cause with the courts,” the statement read.
