Fans Call Out The Double Standard After Bad Bunny Was Praised For Kissing His Background Dancer While Lil Nas X Was Bashed

Bad Bunny made MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) history Sunday night by becoming the first non-English language act to win the Artist of the Year award.

Prior to getting presented with the award by NBA star Carmelo Anthony, the Purto Rico-native performed his hit song “Titi Me Pregunto.”

Bad Bunny, 28, performed at Yankees Stadium and was streamed live to the Prudential Center in New Jersey, where the VMAs took place. After his performance, in which he kissed a male dancer right after kissing a woman, Bad Bunny gave his acceptance speech in Spanish.

Well, fans are now calling out the double standard after Bad Bunny was praised for kissing his backup dancer while Lil Nas X was bashed for doing the same at the 2021 BET Awards.

At the 2021 BET Awards, Lil Nas X delivered a Michael Jackson-inspired rendition of the hit single surrounded by topless male dancers. He concluded the performance by kissing one of them.

According to Lil Nas X and his team, showrunners were displeased with the kiss and said they felt “taken advantage of.”

“At some point after [Nas] got offstage, one of the BET producers came up to me and before I could even open my mouth, he looked at me and said, ‘That was really fucked up,'” a member of the artist’s team, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution, told Rolling Stone.
